News Flashes

Ted Henry of Henry has retired, the new owner of Henry Radio is Robert (Bob) Burchett (WB6SLC). Purchase, repair, and service email address:

https://www.henryradioamplifiers.com/

The email address above is new, do not confuse is with the new company email address.

We recently lost our Tombstone repeater VHF amplifier, however, the good news is, it's been repaired and on it way back, it should be on line by Saturday October 22, 2022.

***************************

Range of the Tombstone repeaters is dependent on direction and topography, however, we have just installed a LAN-01A Unit in the 440 repeater, it now has unlimted range potential through LAN linking, please read the IMRS Repeaters Page for more information on the LAN.

I think that we all understand that amateur radio operators throughout the country contribute much to their communities, especially in the way of emergency communications. I was the Emergency Coordinator and RACES officer for Waupaca County Wisconsin and was personally involved in the Weyauwega, Wisconsin train derailment disaster in which numerous LP tanker cars derailed and exploded, causing the evacuation of all the residents of Weyauwega, Wisconsin. Amateur radio operators not only assisted emergency government with emergency communications during this event, they also assisted in transporting individuals to shelter facilities, hospitals, helped with food, clothing, and etc., to those in need.

I hope the Tombstone repeaters will serve to attract both licensed Hams and prospective Hams and act as a focal point for the amateur radio community in Tombstone. The repeaters will not only serve local area hams, it will also serve well for tourists who are visting Tombstone. I also hope that the amateur radio community will take advantage of the Tombstone AB7CQ IRLP 7515 node & WIRES-X  node. Remember: The nodes are on line 24 hours a day and all licensed Hams are welcome to use them.

REMEMBER ..... BIG THINGS HAVE LITTLE BEGINNINGS.

Please support the amateur radio operators in your community, they are a friend to your community.

I will keep everyone posted as to the status of the new repeaters.
